SUBLEQ Processor

Picture
Integrated Electronics Final Project
Jakub Hladik and I built the world's first layout implementation of a SUBLEQ (SUBtract A from B and Branch to C if LEss than or EQual to zero) processor for our final project in EE330. My role was to create the 256x8 SRAM unit which had over 20,000 transistors.

Hardware Adaptor

The goal was to create a new gaming experience by allowing multiple players to control a single character.

Gamecube Virtual Disk Drive

Picture
WASP FUSION MOD
In this project I'm using a WASP Fusion FPGA board to mimic a Gamecube's disk drive. The goal is to eliminate the need for disks when playing games. I designed a custom PCB to plug into the disk drive P9 port with a micro SD attachment.

Exploration of Audio Synthesizers

Picture
Fall 2018 Creative Component
I set out to design my own hybrid synthesizer using a combination of various researched techniques.

Automated Parking Violation System
Justin Wheeler, Jakub Hladik and I worked on this project for our HCI 575 computational perception course. Our goal was to make a system that could automate the process of detecting parking violations to relieve the lack of available parking spots on campus.

B-Reader:
The Braille Kindle

Picture
Spring 2018 Hackathon Project

The goal was to create a portable electronic reader to better help blind people interface with technology. Our device translates Ascii text into Braille for the user to read by placing their finger over the [3x2] array of pins. The text if fed over serial communication as a set of commands for which pins to put elevate and demote.

Project Icarus

Picture
Spring 2016 Hackathon Project

Our goal was to create a more user friendly experience for flying a drone. Instead of the conventional remote control, our aircraft receives instructions from the user's hand movements.

Text to Braille

Picture
3D Printing .stl Generator
My neighbor works with visually impaired children and was in search of a way to 3D print Braille text for them. I developed a program that converts text to a 3D .stl file to represent the bumps to be fed to the printer.

Enigma Simulator

Picture
Programming Simulation

I was interested with how the German electro-mechanical cipher machine worked. I initially programmed the non-plugboard version but have the desire to add that feature in the future.

Picture
Fall 2017 Course
The entire semester focused on developing transistor devices on a silicon wafer.

Sensor Web

Picture
Senior Design Project

Our team designed a low cost solution for gaining agricultural field data. The system is made up of several operational nodes that collect the data, using some abstract sensor, and pass the information along to a single home node. The home node is capable of using a wireless cellular network, and can compile the data from all the operational nodes and send this data to a web application, where it can be viewed and interpreted by users.

Modified $5 Glider

Picture
Summer 2016 Project

I purchased a $5 glider from Walmart with the challenge to control its flight. After the build I was able to successfully pilot using modified elevator, rudder, and prop. The first flight crushed the Wright Brothers air time duration.

Wind Turbine

Picture
Spring 2017 Hackathon Project
The goal of this project was to generate electricity using wind energy. Our turbine was made by modifying an AC brushless motor to house neodymium magnets in the core. Blades were constructed out of PVC pipe and a center mount was made using a CNC router.

Speaker Recognition

Picture
DSP Final Project

Our goal was to create a real time speaker recognition system. This application is able to output the name of whoever is speaking after being trained into our system.
